Gene O’Hara (Otto) Miller, born on November 25, 1932, raised in Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Reno, Nevada. He lived a full and exciting life, leaving behind a legacy of adventure and love.
Genes passion for skiing was a defining feature of his life. He and his beloved wife, Joyce, whom he married 66 years ago, first met while skiing at Sun Valley in Ketchum, Idaho. Their shared love for the slopes took them on ski trips across Europe, where Gene raced on the FIS Circuit, even competing behind the Iron Curtain.
A proud veteran, Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and commitment.
After completing his education, Gene embarked on a successful career in the office copy machine business. He and Joyce founded California Copy, Inc. which grew into a thriving company with three offices in the San Joaquin Valley, employing over a hundred people.
Gene is survived by his wife Joyce, three daughters, Lisa, Kris, (Matt), and Karen; his grandchildren, Kevin, Sarah, Sheila, and Katrin; and four great-grandchildren. He will be remembered not only for his achievements, but also his warmth, kindness and zest for life.

Sparks – Joyce Mullen Miller passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Joyce was a proud graduate of the University of Washington. From an early age, she embraced an active and adventurous life. She was an accomplished skier and enjoyed tennis, golf and fishing throughout her adult years.
Joyce married the love of her life, Gene Miller, and together they shared 67 devoted years of marriage. They met in Sun Valley, Idaho, a place that would remain close to Joyce’s heart for the rest of her life. In the 1950’s, Joyce’s adventurous spirit took her to Europe by ship, where she skied and hitchhiked her way across the continent-an experience she often recalled with delight.
Joyce and Gene later founded California Copy, Inc. in Stockton, California, where Joyce served as Chief Financial Officer. Known for her sharp mind and attention to detail, she famously never met a spreadsheet she didn’t like and took great joy in crunching numbers and managing the business finances.
An avid traveler, Joyce explored the world extensively but always returned to her favorite places: skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho and spending summers at Donner Lake, California, surrounded by family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene in March 2025. She is survived by her three daughters: Lisa Feusier, Kris Miller Paxton and her husband Matt, and Karen Miller. She also leaves behind four grandchildren-Kevin, Sarah, Sheila and Katrin-and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
